SIS BearFActs Bear Facts System offers students and staff online visual access to student information on the Web.  Students and staff are able to update addresses; view grades and personal data; find out status with financial aid, blocks, and CARS billing; and print any of this information.  Bear Facts for staff includes a reporting service, which provides a variety of pre-defined reports that users can print in their own offices.  The current version of Bear Facts has 125 programs. SIS BSI Berkeley Student Information (BSI) system provides data to the Oracle database from the IDMS Student Database.  There are 35 batch programs that extract data from the IDMS Student Database and about 160 programs that create and load the Oracle database.  Data is refreshed nightly in the Oracle database, so its content is current as of the previous night.  The Oracle database is used for Bear Facts, as well as client/server applications and distributed computing done at the college and departmental level.  Campus JR Schulden 642.1618 schulden@socrates.berkeley.edu
